Unfortunately, almost everyone has an obsession concerning their weight. The reasons that have taken us to this stage are, indeed, very complicated to understand. I would like to propose a come-back to a more natural way of living. I am convinced that if we eat in a relaxed environment with no bad thoughts or guilty feelings, both our weight and self-esteem will find their right balance.
Have you noticed that every person has their own natural weight? No matter which diet he or she follows or how much he or she suffers, at the end they always go back to it. The secret to deal successfully with that situation is to eat well balanced meals in a relaxed atmosphere, giving yourself plenty of time to enjoy the succulent experience.
It is not true that pasta itself is fattening. That effect is just a result of the kind of ingredients we use to combine it with. There are many healthy sauces that are good for our body. Another positive fact is that if you cook pasta “al dente”, which means not too soft, it does not turn during the digestion process, into a food with a high sugar content.
Because the pasta is still a little hard, it will dissolve slowly in the stomach and the sugar that is segregated will not end up in the blood stream in one shot. Consequently, the pancreas would not have to produce a high level of insulin to fight this sugar. It happens in the same way with the “good” or wholemeal carbohydrates as opposed to the processed ones. That is good news, so… let’s eat pasta!
Last but not least, 100 gr. of pasta (which is a considerable portion by all standards) has 360 calories, which is not too much considering that we need around 2,500 y 3,000 calories per day. And we should not forget that it also contains a lot of calories of happiness, and it is easy to digest. These calories are not fattening at all!
