Lambrusco is a sparkling wine that comes from Italy, but it is not just the name of the final product. Lambrusco also refers to the type of red grape used in its creation process. This type of wine has its birthplace in four of Italy's vineyard regions; specifically in Modena, Parma, Reggio nell'Emilia and Mantova due to the presence of high mineral salts in their soils.
It is there that this wine was born, which years ago began to be exported to Argentina and since then has not ceased to reach countries all over the world. Not only that, but there are four varieties of lambrusco that have a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO).
The production process of lambrusco is not like that of other sparkling wines such as cava or champagne. In the case of this wine, and as a fundamental part of this Lambrusco origin, the Chamat-Martinotti method is used.
There are more than 60 varieties of lambrusco, although due to its colour it should not be confused with rosé or claret wines. Lambrusco is a sparkling wine, which although it maintains the reddish colour has nothing to do with those mentioned, even its taste is different. That is why, as always, it is suitable for colour tastes, and in this case wines.
