Now that summer is fully underway, we're craving something fresh and light on our plates. At Da Bruno Restaurant, we cooked up a few good fast, perfect summer food ideas that can be prepared quickly and easily at home.
Today, we're going to take a look at Carpaccio, a dish that is usually prepared with thinly sliced meat or fish, served with cheese, and seasoned with lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil.
Carpaccio originates from Italy and its original recipe was prepared with thin slices of beef tenderloin with lemon dressing and Grana Padana cheese shavings.
Today, Carpaccio has undergone many transformations and can be found in other varieties such as beef, ostrich, horse or even otter as well as a variety of seafood such as monkfish, cod, hake, octopus, scallops, etc. There is even a vegetarian version using fruit, mushrooms or cheese.
When looking at meat Carpaccio, the most common recipe usually includes veal with lemon dressing, olive oil and parmesan cheese shavings. At Da Bruno Restaurant, we've added our own personal touch to this recipe and make it with beef tenderloin, rucola, parmesan, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.
