The King's Cup Olympic Trap, which is skeet, will be this weekend and takes place at the Shooting Club Jarapalos.
Our city will have two representatives, Miguel y Enrique Cortés, which are competing for the title.
Miguel already has an extensive background having been seven times champion in Spain, while his son is world championship runner-up in universal trap.
200 athletes will participate in this test and as Miguel Cortes says it is a qualifying "to form the national team." A combo that through 5 scoring runs, this will be the first, "will represent Spain at the international competitions."
And of course, the target of Miguel and Enrique Cortés is to be at the Olympic Games in Rio. "We have hope and there is that possibility." To do that "we must work from now on, because it is complicated but it can be done".
As for the Kings Cup, there are a total of 125 plates, with the semifinals and final. On Saturday there will be 75 plates thrown, while on Sunday there will be 50. Both have good options but Miguel clarified that "it is a sport that depends a lot on the feelings of a particular time so that we always have to look for regularity, training is crucial and until the end no one knows which position we will be".
Today they introduced themselves with their sponsor Da Bruno Restaurants. Their responsible, Bruno Filippone noted that the most important thing is "that besides being good athletes, they are good people" and aimed "fighting for Marbella".
Federico Vallés, the Municipal Director of Sports, attended the event and noted that "both Miguel and Enrique are two references" he also thanked Da Bruno "for the support to the local sports" calling it a "discreet" sponsorship.
